Let us dive into the appeal of living by the sea and explain why should you do that – in Primosten County.

Why do people yearn to have a sea-view apartment in Croatia?

Owning a sea-view apartment by the sea in Croatia is highly desirable for more than one reason.

First of all, the Adriatic coastline offers stunning views and a serene environment. The abundance of sunny hours a year, fresh air, and clear, blue sea make the Adriatic a picture-perfect destination all year long.

Secondly, the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. Living by the sea can have positive, even healing effects on the mental health and general well-being of a person.

Also, sea-view apartments usually benefit from excellent natural light. The open view can allow better airflow and more sunlight.

Furthermore, sea-view apartments on the Croatian coast are a good investment. High tourist demand makes these properties attractive for rental income. As we witnessed in these past few years in Croatia, coastal properties tend to appreciate over time.

Meet Croatia’s coastal jewel – Primosten

Have you ever heard of Primosten, a charming county located on the Croatian coast, between the cities of Šibenik and Split? If you haven’t, this is the time to get acquainted with it, especially if you are looking for sea-front property in Croatia.

Primosten is the name of the entire county, but also the name of the old town situated on a very specific peninsula. The county is known for its picturesque settings, beautiful beaches as well as historical sites.

It is a great place for those who cherish peace and privacy but wish to be near bigger cities, as well as for active people.

Primosten is a paradise for runners and walkers because you can cover long distances on beautiful promenades without needing to go on the main road or any busy streets.

The view is perfect along the entire route. For me, the most important thing is the tennis courts. There are other options too, including football, volleyball, water sports, cycling, and activities for children”, says Ana, an entrepreneur with a PhD who has spent her vacation in Primosten her entire life.

We asked her what was so special about that peninsula that she was preparing to buy her apartment.

“First of all, the beaches – crystal-clear water, pebbles, shade. Primosten is one of the rare places that offers such a wide selection of different beaches. That makes it easy to switch them during the day if it’s windy at your beach or too crowded.

Although it is not a large town, it’s easy to step out of the center and feel like you’ve gone somewhere else. Additionally, it’s very easy to get to larger towns like Šibenik and Split”, says Ana.

Indeed, the historic city and tourist center of the middle Dalmatia, Split is only an hour’s drive away. From there, you can easily get to the famous Croatian islands of Brac and Hvar in no time. Also, you can visit the town of Sibenik and its fortresses in no time.

Primošten has great weather and even better wines

“I think everyone can find the type of vacation they are looking for there. Whether it is an active vacation, exploring surrounding areas, or experiencing local culture and gastronomy”, says Ana.

We can’t talk about gastronomy without mentioning Primosten vineyards and their superb vines.

What is so special about their wines is that vineyards are surrounded by drystone walls. That makes it “one of the most recognizable vineyard-covered landscapes that you will see while sailing the Adriatic”.

This is how the Croatian Tourist Board describes vineyards in the Primosten region. So, if you are a wine lover, wine-tasting tours are a must when in Primosten County, especially the one in the Prgin vinery.

One other thing that enriches Primosten’s tourist offer is its historic and religious sightings.

Firstly, there is the statue of Our Lady of Loreto that overlooks the entire town. On top of Old Town’s hill, you will find St. George’s Church. This church dates back to the 15th century and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area.

Finally, all these outdoor activities and trips couldn’t be possible without the great weather with which Primosten is blessed.

Dalmatia is known for 3 types of wind – bura (colder, sharper), jugo (warmer, southern), and maestral (soft summer breeze). Bura doesn’t blow that often in Primosten and during the summer months, maestral is present a lot. There are times when there is no wind at all. Even when it’s windy you will always find a secluded part of the town.

The climate is Mediterranean – hot and clear summers that start in June, and peak in July. During the rest of the year, the weather is mild and dry – there is not much rain.
